Learn how to make this perfect Italian treat with a vegan twist. The Affogato is a traditional Italian made by pouring hot espresso over gelato. However, I used my vegan vanilla ice cream as the cold component. This a great drink to have after dinner or as an afternoon treat. I hope you this recipe for the Perfect Vegan Affogato. Finely grind your espresso beans if you haven't done so already.
Scoop a tablespoon of the espresso beans into the portafilter. Using a tamper, firmly press down on the espresso to compress it down. This will allow time for the espresso beans to brew in the hot water.
Place espresso onto your machine and lock into place. Brew your espresso.
Take a scoop of my vegan vanilla ice cream and place into a serving glass or dish. Pour over the hot espresso. I like to sprinkle a little cinnamon on top, but that is completely optional.
