How To Make Vegan Ramen Burgers

The Ramen Burger is a trend that seems to be staying. It is delicious twist to the traditional burger that substitutes the hamburger bun for a bun made with cooked ramen noodles. There are plenty of recipes online for regular Ramen Burgers, but I am really excited about this recipe for the Vegan Ramen Burgers. I am sure even if you aren’t vegan, you are going to love this delicious recipe. Big thanks to Charles of FastGoodCuisine/FlavorHeist for challenging me to make this. Check out his copycat recipe for McDonald’s McVeggie. If you have recipe you would like to see me make, let me know in the comments below. Ingredients
  1. Instant Ramen Noodles | 1 Package
  2. Black Beans, Cooked | 2 Cups
  3. Red Onion, Chopped | ½ Cup
  4. Green Bell Pepper, Chopped | ¼ Cup
  5. Bread Crumbs | ½ Cup
  6. Cilantro, Finely Chopped | 2 Teaspoons
  7. Garlic, Minced | 1 Clove
  8. Ramen Seasoning | 1 Package
  9. Flax Egg | 1 ea. (1 Tablespoon of Ground Flax + 3 Tablespoons of Warm Water)
Instructions
  1. Cook and cool the ramen noodles. Separate into 4 piles. Will make two buns.
  2. In a medium sauce pan, place ring mold with a little oil. Place one of the piles into the ring mold and cook for 3 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Carefully remove the ring mold and flip the ramen bun. Cook for another 3 minutes. Both sides should be light brown. Set aside to make the black bean burger.
  4. In a medium sized bowl, place 1 1/2 cups of the cooked black beans. Mash until semi-smooth.
  5. Add the rest of the black beans, garlic, cilantro, and ramen seasoning. Mix with your hands until it well combined.
  6. Add the bread crumbs, red onion, green bell pepper, and flax egg. Mix until the mixture is able to be formed into patties.
  7. Form in to patties. Should make 4-5 black bean burgers.
  8. Cook each burger in a pan or grill. Until both sides are toasted (about 2.5 minutes on each side)
  9. Prepare the burger with your condiments and toppings of choice.
  10. Enjoy!
Notes
  1. If you don't have a ring mold, use a can with both sides cut off.
  2. If grilling, make sure to use foil so that the burgers don't fall through.
