How To Make One Ingredient Caramel | Easy Recipe
|Making caramel is sometimes is a difficult process to understand. You have to get the right temperature, color, and ingredients in order to make the perfect tasting caramel. However, I’m here to let you know that you can make caramel with only one ingredient. It is very easy to do and also delicious. In order to make One Ingredient Caramel, all you need is sweetened condensed milk, a mason jar, a pot of boiling water, and a spoon. It does take longer to make than traditional caramel, but you can just walk away and come back every 30 minutes. - Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Pour Condensed Milk into a mason or glass jar.
- Place jar into a pot with water leveled with the condensed milk.
- Bring To Boil.
- Every 30 minutes, add more water to the pot and stir the condensed milk.
- Leaving in Boiling water for 1.5 - 3 hours depending on the consistency you want. The longer you leave it in boiling water, the thicker it will be.
- Once done cooking, leave out for 2 hours to cool at room temperature. Then place into the fridge overnight.
- Enjoy.
Thanks for posting this Jac! I love caramel and always wanted to try this but every other instruction called for boiling it in the can and I just never felt good about doing that. I never considered this way.
I’m always to afraid that the can will explode. You can do this same method in the crockpot too, but it takes 8 hours.
I am so glad that I found this recipe. I often get sweet cravings and end up making a whole batch of cookies or brownies and either end up eating them all and feeling bad or eating a couple and feeling bad because I wasted the rest. This is perfect to satisfy my sweet tooth and keep me from feeling so bad either way.

You can also pour into a graham cracker pie crust. It makes a delicious pie. I made it several years ago at Thanksgiving and my husband’s 90 year old grandpa ate the whole thing. Had to make another one so other family members could have some.
